Laura produces three forms of wood art; natural wood as sculptures, artful furnishings e.g., benches, tables, etc., and bas relief carvings. Laura's objectives are to produce fresh art forms of furnishings honoring the glory of wood in grain, color and form and to achieve a balance of shape and line; mass and balance. She is drawn to contemporary designs as well as some traditional styles. Laura honors the bold designs of First Nations figures and symbols because they add meaning to life forms.
The bronzes by Sammy Long replicate the images of native Americans of the West and plains. His bronzes brings legendary names to life. The souls of the chiefs, warriors and story tellers can be felt his figures. Sammy also has other types of sculptural figures and animals.
