I'm interested in the tension between elegance and a sense of rustic immediacy. Form and line and texture, a sense of balance without polishing out the hand of the maker. All my pottery is wheel thrown and wood fired with ash and clay glazes. I leave the outsides of the pots bare so that the flames of the wood fire can paint each piece in the kiln, showing the record of its transformation through human hands and fire.
