I have been a potter for 55 years and move to the San Juan Island and start production here in year 2000. I use a variety of ceramic techniques in my studio: from low fire majolica to high fire reduction, and from Raku to overglaze and naked clay methods in both clay and porcelain.

After moving to the island I found that clay, dug from a local pond in San Juan Valley, offers excellent features for hand building and Raku firing. I like to let the clay express by itself trying to intervene as little as possible. For high fire I work with commercial clays, but my main interest remain focused in exploring the unique features of our local clay.
