I am an illustrator turned painter. I have always been fascinated by pattern, color and story. My favorite genres of painting are Art Nouveau and the Pre-Raphaelite Movement. My favorite painter is Gustav Klimt. Fairytale illustrators of the 19th century and early 20th century have had a direct influence on my work.

At college I studied biological illustration and print making, concentrating on graphic design. After moving to the island in the 70’s I continued painting now influenced by the beauty surrounding me. Painting for years in water based mediums I switched to oils in the last few years. My most recent work is a collaboration of oil paint, paper, acrylics and gouache. Combining illustration, pattern, and the natural beauty of my island home is my artistic goal and continuing challenge.

I am looking forward to sharing my beautiful new studio space in the upcoming studio tour. My dear friend and fellow artist Beth Hetrick will be showing her wonderful pastels and paintings also. We look forward to sharing our work with you.
